still live on canvas"Uncolted", pencil drawingEven though I spend most of my time on the computer these days, I got my start in the creative world with real-life media like painting and drawing and craft. I try to do some every now and then to keep the old creative juices flowing– outside the computer box.

“Happiness” painting

2008. oil on canvas, 10" x 10"

2008. oil on canvas, 10\

I made this painting when I was searching for a one-word idea that would be suitable for my 2008 holiday card; one word to encompass a grand idea of what I wished for each recipient, that did not lean in any religious direction. After searching high and low thru dictionaries, thesauri (plural form?) and google, I realized that what I was yearning to find wasn’t cloaked in little-known obscurity, but was, in fact, plainly– happiness.
