Movie Poster: “Somewhere Slow”
Freelance design
January 2012
My childhood friend, Jeremy O’keefe, lives in LA and makes movies. He knows I’ve always wanted to do graphics for movie posters and title sequences, so he employed me to help with this one!
Xerox press release graphic
Freelance design
November 2011
I created an infographic for Text 100, a global PR firm based out of NY, for their client, Xerox, based on a survey of holiday shoppers’ likely responses to specific promotions. My graphic went along with a press release to help augment the findings and draw further press attention for “Black Friday” marketers. The full release can be found here.
Because the final product was pretty different than my original intention (which I loved!), I decided to show the progression.
Logo + business card : Sarah Phelps Real Estate
Freelance design
September 2011
I created the logo for Sarah, who is an independent realtor working under the Remax brokerage. She wanted to stand out from the other agents as she makes moves to branch out on her own. She had a very specific “Tiffany” key idea that I executed with a feminine flair. The business card had to utilize the Remax brand guidelines on the front, but her logo is on the back as a beautiful foil accent. I’ll display photos of the final, printed product when they come in.
Motion: Logo-Loop videos for Rovi Corp/Div X
Freelance motion graphics
August 2011
Working under the direction of Andre Castro at Rovi Corp on a freelance job for The Creative Group, I created these logo-loop videos for a trade show display booth working remotely from home. I learned a lot with this project to up my motion graphics game, and was able to use effects I’ve been wanting to try: the shadow/reflection and whole-scene feel of the layout, plus the 3D angled movement for the logos really worked out well. There were lots of logos to display and Andre helped me perfect the quality so all were sharp and consistently sized. I also re-created a few of the logos from raster to vector, but I bet you can’t tell they all aren’t original!
Motion: Product overview video :: for 1-800-Dentist / Patient Activator
Freelance motion graphic work.
July 2011
Product overview video for 1-800-Dentist’s Patient Activator software program awarded to me as a Creative Group job. Working with the 1-800-Dentist team, I created the graphics and produced this video with After Effects. I worked on-site at their Culver City, LA office and put together this video using screen-captured video, stock photos, a script we developed together, and my graphics and type treatments. I also edited the voice over sound to the best of my ability.
The video is aimed at office managers in dental firms, to be a “deep dive” into the product’s features with a bit of training specifics to really showcase the product–which is why it is 5 minutes long! It is meant to be distributed on DVD to the offices, but will also be accessible online.
